Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko made a moving appearance at the Unternehmertag
All those who witnessed the appearance of Dr Vitali Klitschko, Mayor of Kyiv, and his brother Dr Wladimir Klitschko on Thursday at Unternehmertag at the Althoff Seehotel Überfahrt on Lake Tegernsee will not soon forget their moving account of the desperate situation after more than three years of war.
The exhaustion is evident in both former world boxing champions, who have been fighting tirelessly for their homeland since Russia’s unlawful attack. “The hardest part of my work as mayor is the endless suffering I encounter during my visits,” said Vitali Klitschko.
His message: "Security and stability in Europe are impossible without peace and stability in Ukraine. That is why all European partners must now take a significant step to support Ukraine. This is an extremely critical moment—especially for Europe. Our efforts must therefore be consolidated and effective. In addition to military aid for Ukraine, it is essential to strengthen the economic pressure on Russia—particularly through sanctions. Most importantly, any ‘peace plan’ must include respect for Ukraine’s territorial integrity and security guarantees. Otherwise, there will be more wars and conflicts on the European continent.”
Once again, Unternehmertag is standing with Ukraine – because even after three years, this war is far from over. In fact, the situation has worsened. Following US President Donald Trump’s drastic cuts to aid, the country, invaded by Russia, is more dependent than ever on financial support.
“Just because this war has been raging for three years doesn’t mean this situation is normal,” says Dr Conny Boersch, founder of Unternehmertag. “It appears that Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin are now trying to carve up Ukraine between them—and we must not allow that to happen. Not only in Ukraine’s interest but in our own: for the sake of our freedom, our values, our economy, and our way of life. Putin has made it abundantly clear that he has no intention of stopping at Ukraine’s borders. The next countries in Europe are already on his list. So don’t wait until his troops are at your doorstep. Let us act now. Support Ukraine with your donation!”
