Lior Frenkel brings over 25 years of experience in the cybersecurity industry, both in the private and public sectors, including innovation of cutting-edge technologies, contribution to creation of policies and supporting state level strategies.
Lior founded and leads, as CEO, Waterfall Security Solutions, which has deployed its market leading OT cyber protection technologies across the globe, in the most critical and sensitive facilities and national infrastructures. Waterfall’s innovative Unidirectional Gateways play a crucial role in protecting power plants, airports, railway systems, to list just a few, while making sure they are also in compliance with government cyber regulations, guidelines, and best practices.
As a service to the public, Lior serves as member of the Board of Directors of the Manufacturers Association of Israel (MAI) and the Israeli Export Institution (IEI), In the Management of the Israeli High-Tech Association (HTA) and as the Chairperson of the International Trade Committee and the Chairperson of the Israeli Cyber Forum. These organizations play a crucial role in shaping the industrial and technology sectors in Israel, often interacting with the government, and advocating for their respective industries. Heading the Israeli Cyber Forum, Lior leads efforts to promote the Israeli cybersecurity industry on a global scale. Lior frequently contributes to regulatory steering committees, governmental forums, public hearings, and closed-door briefings, globally.
Lior is a graduate of Bar-Ilan University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Statistics. His academic background is complemented by his contributions to the field in the form of multiple patents, mainly in cybersecurity for both OT and IT environments.
